According to current science, the bulk of someone's athletic ability is traceable to their mother. Obviously doesn't hurt to have a pro dad, but I would imagine the access and knowledge and money they provide can be just as valuable along the way. Regardless, I think it pokes a hole in the "will and want" stuff.
