there was almost certainly a big to-do and presentation about why Leonard was the guy and if you're Freeman & Bowden, you really, really can't afford to have the Jordan/Mendoza guys questioning your competency. These are the guys you're going to be coming to for your next "need" but also, these are the guys who, if you are in trouble, are going to be on the search committee for a replacement and funding your buyout. They're like the Iron Bank, you don't want to ever have to tell them you've fucked up if you can avoid it
