What a great thing to do.

My boy played on a team that had a kid in his last year of youth soccer -- went to club the next spring. That kid has fantastic parents (and we told them so at the family social at the end of the season), who focused on his development and on him passing to others and crossing and lifting up his teammates and doing everything a better player should. Then, after the season was over and knowing that he needed more, they gave it to him.

Their younger son played with our boy on a tournament team. He's not as skilled, and they are working with him differently than they did their eldest because they're attentive to that, but they still focused on growth and team. Just totally great people whose kids have a chance to be great people because they're being raised to value the right things.
