There have been quiet but persistent rumors that more is going on there than appears, with a nuke being sent the ACC’s way, a partial B1G deal via NBC, and a Big East home for non-Olympic. But how credible are those? Who knows. Fornelli mentioned it the other day on Cover3 and he’s not an idiot, so… maybe?

The problem is, if we have a competent AD, we won’t know until a deal is announced.

And if we have an incompetent AD, we won’t know.

So it’s hard to tell the difference.

I like to think that someone who got to Chairman in a major sports division would have sharp enough elbows to be competent. But I fear that we have a worse version of Swarbrick in the AD seat. That is not intended as praise, though I know many of you disagree with me on that front.
