Tough crowd

Last season bought Freeman several years. Just his ability to put together a team with that toughness and those results mean I’d keep him around for a long time. If he strung together a few 8-4 seasons, I might start to think that ‘24 was a flash in the pan, but I’d be reluctant to swap him out for someone else.

And to be fair, 8-4 is absolutely on the table this season. The defense is playing much better, and the offense has hit a high plateau, but football is a funny game. Southern Cal, Pitt, Navy, or even a fluke loss is not impossible. It doesn’t mean Freeman should be fired, however. Also, I’ll also be shocked if Freeman doesn’t hit double-digit wins in most of his seasons.
