As my scientific study stopped my sophomore year in college, but aren't there examples such as Higgs boson that have proven a widely held post-Einstein scientific belief to be incorrect? I use the term "belief" because you might be writing that a discovery such as that would not disprove any particular theory and I would not know enough to agree to disagree with that assertion.
