I have friends who are the opposite of creationists - science can never be wrong. Actually, when it's a theory, yeah it can be, because the word "theory" means it hasn't been proven. (Yes, I know evolution is a theory also)

It's like people who believe in the infallibility of Malthus. Well, he hasn't been right yet, so why does anyone think he was infallible? It the same with climatology, as if everything is a consistent, predictable trend. I'm not a scientist and even I know that's not the case, because it's dadblamed common sense.

It's not denying science, as one friend of mine says when I say, you know, your beloved New Jersey may not be under water in 100 years like you are certain of (or maybe it will be - I don't pretend to know), it's that nothing is "settled" when something is still a "theory" or when variables can change, sometimes radically.
