Some thoughts/notes on sequencing

A ton of this track is already laid. The light rail line from the Loop to Hyde Park, for instance, is Metra electric track that's just sitting there. All we'd have to do is build the stations and buy some rolling stock for the CTA.

The Lime Line tracks already extend all the way down Kenton, and then across the south side to State St.

Then that inter-suburban airport connector -- man would that open up people to jobs in Schaumburg or Oak Brook without giving up 25% of their waking hours to traffic hell.

Lots of this stuff is nearly "shovel ready," and there's a bunch of federal money to be had, but it can't be accessed without a dedicated revenue stream. So here's the question: would you accept a half-penny bump in the Cook County sales tax to get a bunch of these things built? The economic impact and jobs numbers are pretty staggering
