He said academic and football excellence is what makes ND special. Our reactions to him are a mirror of what he was at ND and how he left, no matter what he says in substance. It’s hard to be objective. He did bring up his 35 years in coaching maybe 15 seconds into his first answer.
The quality of the questions was not first rate.
