He's right that Freeman took over a program in a better spot than the one Kelly took over and he deserves some credit for that. However, you could say the same thing about Weis. He showed that ND could draw elite recruits (Clausen, T'eo) and play exciting offense.
Wasn't the Gug built or in motion before Kelly showed up?
