As someone - PMan? - said elsewhere here, it should have been rescinded that night by a competent and non-corrupt FIFA. That would have been fair to the US but also fair to Belgium. That competence and a lack of corruption never came into play, but undue influence and corruption did is pathetic. But it's also FIFA.

I do find UEFA's whining hilarious... as though their teams do not regularly benefit from FIFA's capriciousness.
