A dog owner veteran, I had to replace a dog...
When I lost my dog too early to a ruptured spleen... went a year or so without one then stumbled into a woman who had to relocate and needed to find a home for her two dogs.
One of them, Sydney, was a sweet heart who we took over. Sydney was great... until my wife got pregnant. And Sydney wanted not one thing to do with the baby.
When I came home one day and my wife was crying because Sydney went after the baby (nothing happened by the way, but it was scary) it was time to make the move. And this wasn't the first time... just the scariest time.
There are amazing people you can find in every community who will help 'rescue' or find a new home for a dog with these type of issues. I was lucky to find one and Sydney is with a family without kids and living her best life.
I absolutely adore dogs - we have two in the family now - but you can't put your family safety over them, especially if you are not a dog whisperer who can train anything (not many of us are).
