He was essentially a failed HC in college and seemed to be headed for a career as an NFL position coach (6 years). I just assumed that they brought him in to mentor Freeman on being a HC, I didn’t expect him to be the best DC in college football.
I have no reason to doubt Ash, but he’s got big shoes to fill.
