Away from the college game for longer and had never been a DC at any level. On its face, that was a pretty risky (and ballsy) hire with a reasonable probability for failure.

Further, I have been encouraged by the way Ash has not only talked about but repeatedly stressed not fixing what ain't broke. He seems to be cognizant that he's inherited a strong staff and personnel. And I have zero worries about player leadership after everything the defense overcame last season.
