One more point on Chandler.

No doubt many of us are disappointed with his decision, but it is absolutely ridiculous to be angry at Chandler or to claim that his situation resembles that of Giuseppe Rossi in any way.

Rossi was born and raised in New Jersey until he went to Italy as a teenager to play soccer. The boy is American. Although I understand the sway of playing for his ancestral home, which happens to be one of the great international powers, I was extremely disappointed by the decision and absolutely enraged by his immodest celebrations after his goals against us at the Confederations Cup. He can go shit in a hat.

Chandler was born in Germany to an American soldier and a German mother. His father abandoned him and his mom shortly after Timmy's birth. It doesn't appear that Chandler spent any significant part of his childhood in the U.S. He speaks only the most rudimentary English. Yes, he has an American passport, but he's German. It is beyond reasonable for him to wait to see if the Mannschaft would have interest in him. It's unjust to be angry with the kid.
