I feel like we dodged a bullet
Because the right situation was out there last year. Not sure there is a greater stereotypical fit than the Steelers. I guess you could argue the Ravens job too.
Stable franchises that are patient with their coaches. But by the time those opportunities opened there were a number of other jobs that had vacancies where Marcus was rumored to be a candidate. that process went on so long that he needed to make some declarative statement if only because he had to fill out staff and recruit. Once he did so was when the better opportunities opened.
Maybe I am an irrational optimist but if he didn't take those opportunities, then which one would he actually take?
