To be honest, we are still figuring out how easily it spreads and how virulent/severe it is in patients that get it. Yes, similar to the flu and similar to SARS from 2003 although seems to spread more easily but cause less severe disease than SARS.

SARS was pretty terrible as far as how easily it spread in other countries, mainly China, but didn’t become widespread within the developed countries (most if not all of the cases got the virus in another country then traveled here). We are hoping that the same will be true with this virus (won’t spread within the US) but is a little too early to tell.

And seems to be spreading around the world faster than SARS (higher rate of infectivity).

But to answer your question about should we be worried- I hope not, but I think still too early to tell.
