is a great place to start for anyone looking to dive in: 244 tracks from the famous and forgotten alike. It's well worth anyone's time--10 hours and 44 minutes, to be precise--to discover lost gems like Barbara Stephens' "The Life I Live."
I saw William Bell recently, when he was touring with this "Take Me to the River" experience thing:

The show was mostly pretty cheesy, but Bell did a 10+ minute version of "I Forgot to Be Your Lover" that damn near took the roof off the venue.
