Read both!

Moloney basically admits much of his critique reflects a disagreement on journalistic first principles. While I'm more sympathetic to Moloney's understanding of journalism, I think Keefe explains most of his choices in ways that I find defensible. And Keefe explicitly addresses some of the general criticisms Moloney makes. I'm sometimes persuaded by Keefe's explanations, sometimes not, but I think he's more transparent about his perspective and his judgments are more carefully qualified than Moloney suggests.

But, as with most things, it would be a mistake to read only one book on the matter or to confuse journalism with history.
