I had a brief chance encounter today in downtown Chicago with two current ND students (one of them was wearing and ND cap and I did the obligatory “Go Irish!).

After the also obligatory exchange of “what dorm do you/did you live in” - it warmed my heart that they asked first, some things never change - I asked them “do you guys have any idea how lucky you are”

They knew exactly what I was talking about.
