He was Norway's only real threat and he had to play, and expend energy, almost every minute of Norway WC run with little margin for rest.

Four of Norway's final five games were decided by 1 goal (4-1 France was the only blowout) and IIRC a couple of those games went to extra time.

So I cut Erling some slack because unlike Mbappe or Kane he didn't have anyone to take some of the burden off him.
