It's like the "generic Democrat" polls --
the former state legislator might be a good candidate but who knows if he has baggage. And he certainly has a voting record to pick through.
If the pick isn't far enough left, the self-styled "Democratic Socialists" will stay home to punish everyone else (and themselves) because that's what the Left does.
