I don't consider Pulisic or Trossard as midfielders.

Might be semantics. Even then, Arsenal seem to be selling Trossard away... Pulisic as the great hope is a different problem.

Tielemans / Raskin / Onana (Vanaken) vs. Adams / McKennie / Tillman

Tielemans and Onana are at Villa. Raskin is at Rangers. Vanaken who replaced the injured Onana is at Club Brugge.

Adams (Bournemouth), McKennie (Juventus), and Tillman (Leverkusen) are at least equals on paper.

edit: part of the Belgium success in the first half was clogging the midfield and then bypassing it entirely on offense, going long, and putting pressure on Ream and Freeman as the outside CBs.
