UW
No doubt that the UW program has lost some of its luster. But most areas tend to over-rank the local school, and the UW really doesn't even have any local competition. Kids from around here don't seem to want to move away long term, and often don't want to move away for the short term of college. I think that a lot of kids and families rationalize going to the UW.
On the other hand, the current crop of HS students can't really remember a prolonged state of UW football greatness, and the difficulty of the rebuilding should be obvious to all knowledgeable football fans. I don't think it would be as difficult to talk an ambitious kid into considering leaving.
As a side note, Skyline HS is on the Issaquah highlands, and that area tends to have a larger percentage of the population from other places. It is possible that the mindset among Skyline students is a little broader when looking for colleges.
