Has anyone done a pass distribution study?

I'm curious as to what Kelly's offense looks like from a ball distribution basis. I know we've tracked run/pass mix, but I'm interested to see what parts of the field we throw to and the level of risk associated with each pass thrown. As an example, I know Michael Floyd caught 100 passes in 2011, but what percentage of those passes were low risk 'smoke' screens or little dink passes versus deep vertical routes.

Obviously, "passes that are like runs" is heresy in some circles, but I think it would be an interesting stat to consider given the type of offense that Kelly likes to run. Further, I think 2012 will see us using a lot more screens and swing passes to get the ball in the hands of our playmakers in open space. That will obviously impact the run/pass mix, sending many people over the edge.

It doesn't seem like that type of information is available in most play-by-play descriptions. I think the only way to build that type of 'scatter-plot' would be by re-watching the games.
