Dropping into the back end of the first round is actually
preferable. Agreed that given his competitive edge, he's not going to say he doesn't want to have the season that makes him the #1 pick. But as a practical matter, putting together a great year and ending up on a good team looking for a succession plan is honestly the best possible outcome.
