Somewhat related, I read an article recently about layoffs that Utah's athletic department is getting forced into as part of their private equity deal. My general understanding is that they are laying off long-term university employees and replacing them with a cheaper "outside" agency, conveniently owned by the PE group.*

* If someone knows the true story here, please correct me, as this last part is squarely a "I read this on the interwebs" source.
