My favorite picture of TRice is shooting a j on the stepan
courts with a big crowd behind him. I think it was in the 89 Dome.
That is saying a lot!
Are those courts still there?
I think that change happened when I was there
They allowed Keith Tower to play as a graduating senior. Gauchos picked him up and they went to the final 4.
Technically they can, yes
But it has to be their senior year after they've fully exhausted their NCAA eligibility.
I think maybe Matt Carroll played bookstore back when I was in school?
But in general, these days I can't really imagine a guy doing that and risk tearing an achilles playing on blacktop against a bunch of nobodies, unless they are 100% done with basketball. Maybe the walk-ons.
I guess BBall players use to play! They aren't allowed any
more, are they?
Should have read before posting. Bobby is a great guy.

Super interesting
I grew up ~10 blocks west of there but also between Napoleon and St. Vincent … and I lived on St. Pete’s st my Sr year …
But I had no idea about any of this house’s history …
Dos Kloskas: winners circa 1996
https://bookstorebasketball.nd.edu/about/past-winners/
Such a fun tournament.
That's a cool story
I saw something on fbook that was, frankly, a bit cringe-inducing (for me), but that was absent any background - and the background here, makes all the difference..
I also recall Das Kloskas' bookstore dominance.
So glad there are people still like this in our world

Which was a prelude for the Stanford Hall legends
Showtime then Primetime (or was it the other way around?). My guys Raam Jani, Kevin Hughes and Empey.
But don't forget about the other Gese in the Dos, Alex was a baller too.
neat story

Same year as you. I think they beat Gotsch ShamGotsch
In the round of 8. Maybe.
Here is the "Bar." Bobby in the ND shirt.
Not sure but Bobby could play.

Dos Kloskas - gotta be brothers
They were the champs in 1996, my junior year. The 97 champ was a knockoff, Dos Geses, featuring Alumni Hall legend Billy Gese.
Was the legendary Bookstore team his brothers or
sons/nephews?
I am! I'll get y'all in. Cool dude.
One of like 13-14 kids including a bunch of adopted siblings. Grew up in [s]SB[/s] Elkhart.
He was a Carroll Hall dude. Played golf. Graduated in 90 or 91?
He beat a very bad sickness but always fighting relapese.
I have spoken to him in a year or so; I hope he is still well.
Very religious. IIRC he may have spent a year or two in seminary.

Looks like he is sick again. Please pray for him.
Bobby Kloska's house.

Well, it's in the Kloska's back yard
So unless you're friends with them, you aren't getting in. (And I don't know anyone who is) :)
The address can be googled given that the last name and street address are in the article - basically on St. Peters just south of Napoleon.
never heard of St. Peter's Pub before
Somebody referenced it on FB, and I found this. Not sure exactly where it is. Anybody been in?
