Freeman is less "recruiting" and more "selecting" at this point.

Freeman's got so much riz they need to call him Aura Parseghian

Irish96 and I were at Eddy Commons after the spring game two weeks ago and saw some of the visiting recruits and staff outside O'Rourkes. At one point, Olu was standing next to Fakatou and actually made him look small by comparison. Absolute monster.
Joe Addai's kid was there too. At least one service rates him the top player in all of Texas for 2028.
this is good color.

24/7 has them listed as the same height but Olu is 20 lbs heavier. Sounds like they've underestimated Olu's massiveness.
Who is Olu?

Pretty sure there are a few folks

Including (IIRC) Christian of ISD who have said that Addai is definitely an "ND kid." I'm sure Freeman has a battle on his hands there, but its always good to be banking those visits.
LSU or somebody else?

As you said, what an absolute monster.
Rare girth is a prized attribute.

I swear I just listened to Eric Thomas and Tom Loy say that they didn't expect this one to happen...with Miami and aTm being the favorites for reason$ unmentionable.
A&M is pretty heavy on Mark Matthews
by KGB, Belly o. the Beast, Thursday, May 07, 2026, 13:25 (19 days ago) @ Domer99
who is maybe the only OT prospect more highly-rated than Double-O. There was some talk that they might pass if they landed Matthews, due to what they're spending elsewhere.
ND feels like the owner at the fantasy baseball auction who kept a lot of powder dry in the early going and is starting to bully people with their bankroll.
I'm not sure Cerrato could have recruited at this level

reaching out to recruits to sing Partridge's praises is a compelling counter to Larry Johnson at OSU and others.
He's also used DeForest Buckner with Fakatou

I agree with you, though there have been a few recruitments this class in particular where he's moved his CB around once or twice (Kemon Spell, etc). This has happened so suddenly with Double-O that ND's gone from the fringes to pole position that I'm still a bit skeptical, but it's very encouraging news at a minimum.
None of these guys are infallible.

I think Spell is hard to read because he really likes multiple places and he's impressionable.
On Spell
by Domer99, John Wesley Powell's Expedition Island, Thursday, May 07, 2026, 13:27 (19 days ago) @ KGB
And this is nothing about Loy, but from someone pretty close to him, I am not sure his recruitment is done. He's a pretty impressionable kid. But he certainly had a change of heart when the Briggs truck backed up.
Not to say ND will even have a shot, but the interest in the Irish was very real at one point.
Wonder if its just as simple

that we landed an OL who was a 5-star by at least one recruiting service.
Wagner

Lambert
Black
McKeough
Olu
And with Simien, in this class we have a chance at two.
