Every time I rewatch PSU-ND 2025 I get nervous --

of course, I know how it ends but Leonard threw two really bad picks and the big TD to Greathouse was a bust by PSU.

We never would have won that game without Williams. He had two carries for 17 yards and 5 receptions for 66 including a huge one down the sideline. Love ran 11-46 (and one unforgettable TD) and had one catch for 6 yards. Price never got going and ran 7-13.

Of course, a lot of stuff went wrong, including two interceptions in the end zone called back. The one where they got Gray for holding at the LOS that was a good call. They didn't call all of those but he did grab they guy. The DPI on Shuler was not a good call. He didn't intercept that ball and I don't see where he interfered with the receiver.

Our passing attack was pretty rudimentary compared to what I expect to see. Greathouse had a big night. Williams I've mentioned. Evans came up large. Leonard had a good game except for those two picks but pretty much everything was set up by him as a running threat.

But if we see that version of Greathouse and Williams who I think he is and we get enough other pieces this offense is going to be hard to stop.

The move at the LOS by Greathouse

caused the PSU DB to get his feet tangled and fall down as he tried to react. He didn't just fall down on his own or decide not to cover Greathouse. Also, the move on the safety down the field was also a thing of beauty. Greathouse caused two DBs to trip and fall on the same play.

Also, I know you mean 2025 and not 2005. :)

That's true on rewatching --

Thanks on the date correction. I keep doing that on dates, writing 2006 instead of 2026, etc. I guess it just looks better to me with two zeroes in the middle.

Though the bright spot of 2006 was beating the snot out of the PSU after the close GT game. It's a funny thing (shared by almost everyone seemingly) that if you carefully rewatch a bad game it's never as bad as it seems (in most cases) and a good game is almost never as good as it seems.

I don't think any rewatch of the the 2025 Syracuse game would change one's opinion but I remember rewatching 2006 PSU and thinking "we caught a lot of breaks here."

But I'll stick to my central point -- Williams came up large in that game.

Completely agree on Williams

The long catch on the sideline alone was huge.
