Nobody's lives "have been ruined" by the influx of immigrants to the town. It does create some legitimate challenges to be managed, related to schooling and other issues as mundane as safe driving on the local roads (apparently the law allows for driver's licenses to be issued to immigrants without actually passing the standard written & road tests). But let's not kid ourselves -- it could have been 15k white people dropped into a city of 60k, and it would still present a major challenge to the local infrastructure.

Joe was disoriented and his speech halting. He seemed confused the first 10 min, then settled in and was cogent, substance was fine, presentation tentative and very much coming off as an older man who is slipping.
Trump by contrast was unhinged. He spouted every wildass conspiracy theory out there. The pet eating was the most noteworthy but there were many others, like 9 states allowing “after birth abortions”, immigrant crime crisis, etc. He was confused, hostile, out of control and devoid of substance, data, facts, and any command of policy.
