Finally finished the T25 Rush Def. recruiting data gathering

And I'll be moving on to T25 of Rush Def/Attempt now. But here's the first sheet:

There are, no doubt, a few teams on there I've no interest in having as part of ND's cohort, but at any rate, ND is short nearly 2 front-7 players per recruiting cycle from the avg t25 rush defense team.

that's a lot of misses on our part

No wonder we had to start a slew of sophs (and frosh) in the front 7 last year.

One thing about the 2010 numbers: I think we've got some positional flexibility there that we didn't have in previous classes. You've got 5 guys pegged as "front 7" recruits, probably:

LB Kendall Moore
LB Prince Shembo
DT Louis Nix
DT Justin Utupo
DE Kona Schwenke

But there may be up to three more who will end up in the front 7 depth chart: Spond, Roback, and even Heggie.

Fun quick fact: Only 3 teams in the top 25 rush defenses...

don't appear in the top 25 for avg. yrds given up pre attempt. Makes for assembling that list pretty damned easy.

Those teams: Kansas State, Nevada, and Oregon State.

Of the 3 teams that made the T25 in yds/rush attempt

that weren't in the overall T25 for rush defense, 2 of them, TT and Missouri, brought in better than 3 extra front 7 per class than ND did in the same period.
