that's one
i heard a few others but - joe glenn is pretty well thought of in coaches circles.
for the record - i think being a dick might be an important quality to be a successful head coach.
Here you go
I recall some kind of dust-up with Wyoming's coach...
...a couple years ago that made Whittingham seem like a giant asshole, at least in my view. Can't recall the details offhand, but I'll try to dig something up.
Heck, they could be our toughest.
Purdue -- suckhole
Michigan -- suckhole
MSU -- always plays us tough, but who knows
Stanford -- probably going to be OK, but big change in their offense
BC -- who knows
Pitt -- OK, they're going to be tough
WMU -- no
Navy -- no
Tulsa -- no
Utah -- see below
Army -- no
SC -- you'd think they'd be our toughest, but at that point in the season, they may be in full-blown meltdown mode
If SC melts down and if Stanford doesn't get Luck-y early (that's a pun, get it?) and if Pitt and BC are not tougher than I think they'll be, Utah will be our toughest opponent.
On the other hand, if Utah does not replace all that it lost, Sweet Lou is probably right and they will just barely be in the top half of our toughest opponents.
No kidding?
He was definitely on my personal "could be an Irish HC" radar. Any public domain stories?

Sometimes I rhyme slow sometimes I rhyme quick.
he's a colossal dick
and disliked by a lot of other coaches.
but he's pretty damn good. utah's move to the pac 10 probably enabled them to hang on to him unless he gets offered an elite gig.
There are some other good nuggets about the Utes and
Whittingham in Here Come The Irish 2010. I think they have the potential to be our second toughest foe.
Somogyi's preseason scouting on Utah

Might be a pay article, but some notes.
* Whittingham is 48-17 (.739) at Utah
* Utah had six guys drafted to the NFL last year (compared to ND's four)
* 8 starters returning on offense including 4 OL, a 1,000-yard rusher, and the QB
* Lost all starting linebackers and 3 DBs, but returns its DL. Somogyi thinks that unit is 3rd-best among Irish opponents (behind only USC & Pitt).
Lou's got the Utes ranked #6 on our schedule (noting that they'll be playing us at ND immediately after facing TCU) but admits they could be as high as 3rd.
I think this might be the most intriguing game on the schedule this year.
