The one sure-fire way to end derisive "RKG" references
is for Kelly to win and win big. It's not a drum that I've chosen to beat, but "small-timeyness" remains an image that Kelly needs to put to rest. And while Kelly certainly didn't intend to use "RKG" as a shorthand for small-time recruits, there's one way to prevent that acronym from haunting him: to have living, breathing examples of RKG's who mature and develop into valuable contributors on a championship-level team.
I'm not at all disappointed by yesterday's results for ND. But I do expect better next year and thereafter.
