OT: Kinda weird question about IT/corp lingo

We are rebranding and reworking our website, and we're trying to come up with ways to say "we're cheaper" or "you can save lots of money", but with a broader implication of value. We're looking for a message that resonates with people who have budget authority.

Let's say you've been tasked with Project ABC to revamp and update critical infrastructure. You scope the thing out and come up with a budget of $100MM. The plan makes its way up the chain to the CFO who says, "You have $60MM."

Let's say you pull it off. How would you be thought of by the management? I'm trying to see if there's something along the lines of "rainmaker" or "hero" that we could integrate into our messaging. "Be a hero", etc.

Is there such a term/phrase?

What happened to the other $40M?

This thread is so hilarious.

I feel like middle managers would try to get more sigmas

by MattG, Saturday, February 27, 2021, 05:36 (1156 days ago) @ Domer99

If you’re only like 3 sigma, you’ve missed out on a lot of sigma.

F*ck it. We're doing EIGHT Sigmas.

If you ask for 40M in savings, he won't give you 800M nickels, unless that meets your specific savings needs.

"Don't just be the man. Be the yeo-MAN -- for your highly-competitive business".

Although that's clearly discriminatory, suggesting that women are not capable of achieving such cost savings. Carry on.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. I'm asking if there is a term

by Dylan, Indianapolisish, Friday, February 26, 2021, 09:28 (1157 days ago) @ Dylan

to describe the person. As in, "Jim from IT is a _______."

"hero" or "badass" or something.
