Wow. Good on him.

by domer.mq ⌂ @, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 10:58 (2195 days ago) @ Chris

I'm serious. If you're gonna do it, make a move that might win you a NC. Could be a lot of fun.

Will he actually play?

Good question.

I’m not on top of the Georgia DL situation, but it would very surprising if a guy who was being passed over for a starting job at ND has the skill to make a meaningful contribution at Georgia.

Would they take him if he wasn't going to see the field?

by Jeff (BGS) @, A starter home in suburban Tempe, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 20:07 (2195 days ago) @ San Pedro

I know one scholarship is an inexpensive investment, and I suppose they could bring him on as insurance if someone in the 2-deep went down. But, I wouldn't think they would invest the roster spot or the practice time to someone if they didn't expect him to see the field at all.

At night, the ice weasels come.

Aren't they pretty big on platooning though?

I'm not sure "starting" has a huge effect on his decision. I think he'll get to play quite a bit.

I’m not talking about starting.

by San Pedro @, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 14:44 (2195 days ago) @ domer.mq

I’m wondering whether he’s good enough to break into a two deep or platoon. Pretty wide chasm between ND DL and the cream of the SEC.

I do think we have a really good DL

by Jim (fisherj08) @, A Samoan kid's laptop, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 14:58 (2195 days ago) @ San Pedro

but it's worth noting that he got passed over by Khalid Kareem.

Let's put it this way...

Whether Georgia is in the NC hunt by week 10 or not next year, I'd definitely want to be a player at Georgia this year. For quite a few reasons - many having nothing to do with actually playing football.

It makes a lot more sense geographically, too

by Jack @, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 11:01 (2195 days ago) @ domer.mq

Why would a guy in his situation go even farther from home? I didn't understand that one.

I wouldn't say Oklahoma isn't in the NC hunt, too, though.

I'm not sold on Oklahoma.

by domer.mq ⌂ @, Wednesday, April 25, 2018, 12:32 (2195 days ago) @ Jack

I'm looking for a sophomore slump.

And that Baker Mayfield guy was pretty good

I'm just going to spitball and say some regression is going to happen for the offense with that departure.

7-year starters have a way of doing that.

For his one year, I'm not sure they are.
