Oh Really? God, A Sixth Messageboard: I'm Never Graduating.

(which can, of course, be acronymized to "ORGASMING"). But seriously, I think you guys want me to fail out of Notre Dame, because this combined with NDN, IE, II, BGI, and USCHO, I think I could spend all day every day posting on ND sports topics. And that's (probably) not healthy.

as Alice Cooper would say

Let's call it Bob, but spell it backwards.

Actually, I like the football lab as name or something involving Grantland as suggested.

Or "the bottom of the Pile" which is where cheap shotting DB's like Busco like to grab you in delicate places, so it's a good metaphor.

Last suggestion... "the 5th Years" since we all seem to be holding on to Notre Dame football as long as possible.

No..wait.

I have a suggestion.

by hlewis, Friday, February 13, 2009, 05:55 (6087 days ago) @ Jay

I always wanted to start a metal band so I could call it the Smoking Ruins. We of course wouldn't want to seem to be making obvious reference to anything that might have provoked this place into being, or not, but I'm never going to be in a metal band at this point, so, selfishly, I guess I'm suggesting it to live out the dream in the only other way I could think of.

This being my first post, I thought maybe I'd add a picture of the Unabomber's cabin.

Well obviously the ACP Lounge would be apt. Or perhaps the Swiss Guard HQ. I kid.

The Monogram Room
Green Field (an homage to the days of tailgating where D quad is now.)
The Field House (where the old rallies were)
Grantland's Garage (if you want to keep the blue-gray theme)

Something using Grantland Rice would be good.

ACP is good.

AClown Posse might be a nice homage.

I'm not so sure...

by Busco21, Friday, February 13, 2009, 06:25 (6087 days ago) @ bk

any reference to anywhere else is a good idea. This board is for rational, witty, level-headed discussion...

Why am I here again?

You're thinking correctly.

by Joe ⌂ @, Friday, February 13, 2009, 06:34 (6087 days ago) @ Busco21

About this being a place for rational, thought out, respectful football talk. I'm sure you'll find a way to fit in.

The BGS Common Room and Tenuta's Whiteboard are both good choices. Thinking long term, however, should the coaching staff change, then the board's name would have to change if it incorporates any of their names.

Please create a profile.

by Joe ⌂ @, Friday, February 13, 2009, 13:55 (6087 days ago) @ Pat (Moco)

I always wanted to tell you that.

I'd stick with BGS Football Lab

And use those images.

That second picture is scary....

by NDinVA, Friday, February 13, 2009, 05:29 (6087 days ago) @ Mike

Honestly, for a split second, I thought it was me circa 1971. I still have that plastic Budweiser beer mug sitting on the desk to his left.

The liquor bottles were emptied and tossed decades ago.

These are some cool shots. Where did you get them?

Also, where is that first picture from. Was that taken at Notre Dame?

ND Archives

by Mike, Friday, February 13, 2009, 08:02 (6087 days ago) @ NDinVA

The pictures are from the Notre Dame Photo Archives, which is also where Pat found the BGS Lounge and Road Trip pictures.

The first picture is in Morrissey.

Cool. Thanks.

As you know, I'm partial to the term "Pipe Hitters", but that might not work for those who haven't watched Pulp Fiction, and gained an appreciation for those who are called on when you need the baddest dudes on the planet.

For example: Jon Tenuta... Pipe Hitter.

P.S. Jay, you had to be expecting a post like this at some point. LOL
