Something I noticed during the game

The Spanish defenders weren't playing their man as much as they were defending spots. There were a couple of instances where France would beat someone at the top level of the Spanish defense. The defender would work back then do something unusual.

Rather than run back and mark the Franch player that had just beaten them, the Spanish player would loop back and position himself off the attacker but on an angle.

I actually muttered to myself, they're defending spots NOT players.
