How did I not know Minchey transferred to Kentucky?

I thought he had transferred to Tennessee, but I suppose that’s because he’s from Tennessee. Sounds like he’ll have good coaching at Kentucky, but I’m a little surprised he didn’t end up at a better program. Their schedule is pretty rough including: Alabama, @A&M, @USC (the real one), LSU, @Oklahoma, @Tennessee, Florida, @Mizzou, and Louisville.

He originally transferred to Nebraska

then Will Stein was hired at UK and Minchey was 1st or 2nd on his board. The two got in contact and 6 days or so after the Minchey to NU press release he switched to UK.

In three years at Oregon, he went from Nix to Gabriel to Moore. Then he pried Minchey away from Nebraska. And in the 2027 class he landed Jake Nawrot, who's ranked No. 65 nationally.

Kenny Dillingham to Will Stein.

I remember during the Dante Moore recruitment he constantly mentioned how great Dillingham was and how the two got along. I hadn't heard of Dillingham before so I thought Rees should have the recruiting edge in development record.

Moore definitely saw 'the coming man' in Dillingham.

It's great to nail the coordinator hires, but there's value in stability, as well. Sooner or later, Lanning is going to miss one and it will likely crater at least a season.

I prefer Freeman's tack.

Raiola played pretty well behind NU's patchwork OL (they did have Spindler, who played OK). Minchey could have covered over a lot of those holes with his mobility. I'll root for him wherever he plays. It certainly appears the staff made the right call with Carr. But I think as well that we would have had a good season with Minchey at the QB spot.
