Can the Maine Dems come up with a legit candidate to replace him in time to beat Collins in November?
Maine is a state where it should be relatively easy to flip a Senate seat to the good guys. We just need a good candidate.
This situation is kind of reminiscent of Harris replacing Biden in July of 2024.

It seems likely that he will drop out, but unlikely (to me, at least) that the replacement will be good enough or have enough time to build a campaign that can beat Collins. It's a deeply unfortunate missed opportunity for the Dems.
