Anyone watching the NHL Draft? Players you're watching?

I just settled in for the night. Waiting for Drury to ruin another 18 year old's future, but I did help a buddy analyze some guys so I'm invested more than usual.

As a CBJ fan

Its bumming me out that the Rick Nash Experience is happening again with Werenski. I get that the dude wants to win, and wants to win now, but its depressing that guys who should be lifetime players (and potential captains in Werenski's position) seem to want to eject when they reach the heights of their playing careers.

I guess that's just the life of a small market fan.

Hemming is a solid pick for them. Belchetz was probably

The other choice but he broke his collarbone this year.

The Olympics ruined it for not contenders. All these guys were together and talked about theur futures. Tkatchuk, Helleybuck, Werenski, and Larkin all want out, sometimes to play with their bros. Get ready for more superteams.

And now Marchenko wants out too

Would be really sad if the NHL looks like the NBA in a few seasons.

LOL Marchy.

Maybe if you hadn't completely fucking disappeared over the final month of the season, the team would have actually made the playoffs and enjoyed some of the success you're apparently thirsting for. Dude was literally nowhere to be found when the team was starving for a big goal or two. Fucking ghosted. Even Z, who very much deserved the Norris, didn't look much like a gold-medal winner after returning from the Olympics.

These assholes all just want to take their talents to proverbial South Beach and be bolted onto a winning organization instead of blazing their own path. It's pathetic. I have no interest in rooting for players with no goddamn backbone and no pride in team culture, so better to just dump them for kids who may ultimately prove to have a set of nuts on 'em.

(NBA superstar culture really is the fucking worst, btw. The more tens & hundreds of millions of dollars these jokers make with each new contract, the more miserable and empty they get and the more they throw money at shit like stakes in Kalshi and begin to morph into their owner-masters. It's very easy to see Giannis, who was once such a joyful, exuberant player to watch, on the Kevin Durant path towards maximum ennui.)

We should have known better

And a throw in who turns out to be an All Star. Oh and one of those picks will wind up 1OA!
