Trey Tagliaferri from Bergen Catholic in NJ (same high school as Angeli). Isn't rated quite as highly as Jarrard or Monds but his profile is clearly on the rise, adding recent offers from OSU, Georgia, Alabama, A&M and other national powers. Very sound mechanically for a prep junior-to-be and has more than enough arm strength & accuracy to excel at the college level. Could see him as a more advanced, slightly shorter (listed 6'1") version of Angeli. Maybe not a show-stopper but a strong, high-floor addition to what's quickly becoming a very deep QB room.

EDIT: Does he love football and hard work? Funny you ask...

The first thing Vito Campanile mentions about Trey Tagliaferriā€ has nothing to do with his offers, his statistics or his arm talent.

It's his alarm clock.

The Bergen Catholic quarterback wakes up at 4:20 every morning to make the 90-minute commute to one of the nation's premier high school football programs. According to Campanile, that daily commitment says as much about Tagliaferri as any throw he makes on a Friday night.

"I think it's beyond important to him," Campanile told Irish Sports Daily. "The kid wakes up at 4:20 every day to get to high school. Not too many kids are willing to do that. He lives an hour and a half away from our school and he's there at 6:00 AM every day."

(sorry for the back-n-forth, Chris!)

Or do we?

Freeman is supposedly 6 feet --

this kid looks 3 inches taller than Freeman in the picture, but maybe 6 feet is a "program height" for Freeman.

But he looks like an extremely high floor QB prospect. Would be extremely surprised if he couldn't provide Angeli-level production day 1. He has a notably compact throwing motion.

Freeman's got so much riz they need to call him Aura Parseghian

GINGER!

And I know that is "Bergen Catholic" but I still threw up a little...

He looks so excited.

A jersey driver on the GSP at that hour is 50 minutes tops

Now going home. That could be 2 hours so my ol buddy Vito's math might actually average out.

Good get for the Irish.

If we're working off the formula

That "high ceiling QB should be followed by high floor QB" then I'd say we pretty much hit a home run here with Monds and Trey in successive classes.

Also love that Trey certainly seems like the kid who will stick around for a number of years and serve as a great backup, ala Angeli, rather than looking for the ripcord early.

Just watched his video

people mentioned his quick release & arm strength, and both those traits showed up. But what stood out to me where his feet. He has very short choppy steps in the pocket which allows him to always remain balanced and deliver quick accurate throws.

Basically he's really fundamentally sound on top of having "plus" tools.

That's a very high floor prospect.

Yep.

I really liked the idea of Preyar, for instance, but he's pretty raw based on various reports.

And we are already queued up to add an elite QB for the '29 class, which is totally insane but Freeman has this train rolling.
