Congrats to Michigan

I can't hate. They deserve it. They were the best team almost the entire season.
Give credit where credit is due.
It's cold comfort for Illinois...

But there was essentially no way they were going to beat Michigan.
They could have gotten Connecticut maybe 3-4 times out of ten, but they gave Michigan their best shot a month ago, at home, and got within 3 with about 5 mins to go... and then got smacked.
First and last time I'll ever root for UM

UConn coach is a jerk.
Great game. UConn actually won the boards (46-39). UM 25-28 from the line. From 3: Uconn 9-33, UM 2-15. UM 36 points in paint vs Uconn 22.
I like to think Danny is misunderstood

He comes from NJ high school basketball royalty. Maybe he’s crazy, maybe he’s too intense, but I don’t get any sense of malice from him.
His dad is a big ND football fan

It’s mentioned a few times in the book about Bob Hurley Sr.’s program, “The Miracle of St. Anthony,” and he’s identified himself as a subway alum in interviews.
I think only one player from that program went to ND, but he was a good one- David Rivers.
He and Morgan Wootten are the 2 greatest high school coaches

In US history. St. Anthony's didn't even have a gym.
Hurley's are BD fans. Bobby used to help us out with recruiting too. I honestly wouldn't mind if he replaced Shrews this summer.
Bob Hurley is Jersey City royalty

I was born in JC, and my folks are from there.

I suppose I have a soft spot for anyone that manages to come out of there, especially someone as successful as Hurley.
I've lived around the corner from St. Anthony's for 4yrs

JC for 13yrs in total. I didn't realize for at least a year that the Montessori school I walked by all the time was formerly St. Anthony's. It is absolutely wild he built that place into a basketball powerhouse.
It's a great city. Changing a lot and no longer a steal cost of living-wise, but I've loved it.
My folks are also from there. My dad worked for FDJC.

He seemed in control and gracious last night.

It's rare you hear coaches praising the refs that way.

I don't follow BB well enough to know whether that last non-call was traveling or not - I thought it was but what do I know? But Hurley was pretty gracious about it in his comments.
Maybe because the 5 starters are transfers, not Michigan Men

and the coach doesn't seem like a typical Michigan dickbag, I didn't hate them beating UConn, or more specifically, Hurley.
