And Iran is defeated and all of this brings on the return of Jesus Christ to Earth and it turns out all these Punisher mouthbreathers and closeted bible beaters were 100% right, one of you others that’s been left behind in the Rapture please knock me over with a feather.
Also, Peter Theil going on and on about the Antichrist is a lot like OJ’s looking for the real killer.

I'm not really religious anymore, but I like to keep these in my back pocket:
Leviticus 19:33-34
Matthew 5:40 / Luke 6:29
although they are pretty good with 2 Kings 2:23-24

Might be a good move to accuse others of the same publicly to get some misdirection going there… kind of a “he who smelt it dealt it” attempt at deflection.

Ramallah, Nablus, Tulkarem, Hebron, the Christian village of Taybeh, Bethlehem, Al Walaja, Mssafer Yatta, Farkha, Jericho, as well as three different refugee camps, Balata, Aida, and Dheisheh. Aside from seeing how multicultural Palestinians are (we typically only think of them as Arabs, but I met lots of Black Palestinians and even white Palestinians (admittedly, I was more shocked about the white ones, and they are being raided nightly by illegal settlers), the thing that shocked me most is how revered Jesus was amongst Muslims. Like, universally LOVE Jesus. So when I hear some Christian evangelicals wanting war and cheering violence, it feels twisted. Hypocritical.
I don't pretend to know WWJD, but I’d like to think he’d protect everyone, including those who love him but aren’t Christian.

I went back in 2018 as part of a delegation of artists and educators, but I was suffering through some mental health issues around that time, so I was there, but I wasn't really THERE. It's not often we get a chance for do-overs, so I hopped on the opportunity when it presented itself this year. The big thing for me this time was to sit and talk with people. See their day-to-day lives. From wandering around the Old City talking to random kids and shop owners to breaking bread in houses in refugee camps, I've never been greeted with such hospitality before. I, unfortunately, also got to see some of the settler violence firsthand in Taybeh, and witnessed how some of the people in Masafer Yatta are living in limestone caves since their houses keep being burnt down by settlers. I didn't go in, but I took pics from the outside. But if you Google Masafer Yatta caves, you'll see it. And even then, the people of that village were incredibly kind, offering tea and coffee as soon as they greeted me.
I vlogged while I was there, and I'm creating multimedia content (featuring photos, videos, voiceover, and animation) for each city I visited. It's gonna get me banned from going back, which sucks because I'd go back tomorrow if I could, but all anyone ever asked of me while I was there was to go back and speak honestly about what I saw.

one country is out fighting a war, spilling blood, treasure, and global good will, over last century's source of energy.
a competitor country is spending money on tech development and infrastructure and already is the leader in the production of the energy source for this century. Their role in the Middle East was efforts in stabilization, not war.
Maybe Russia will be a short-term beneficiary. I actually think the US will be as well, since domestic oil production means money and control. But in the long-run, both Russia and the US are focused on destruction and the past.
100% agree with that.

Someday kids in history class won't be able to understand how any people could be so stupid as to fight over an archaic energy form, surely THEY won't ever be that stupid themselves.

apart from the entertainment value they offer. (Occam’s Razor and all that.)
But…
I will admit to thinking that “benefiting Putin” as the unifying thread to all of Trump’s crazy decisions makes me sympathetic to the theory that Trump is a Russian asset. Then I start to wonder about people in his orbit. Then I start to think about people more outside his orbit but still with enough power to influence the worldwide economy and decisions. Then I think about how many of those people had some connection to Jeffrey Epstein. Then I start to wonder about Epstein’s shadow connections. He appeared connected to Israel. What about Putin and Russia? If he were connected to Putin, would Putin have information on DJT and others enough to get them to take actions that benefit Russia (and Putin and his friends)?
Anyway…
I don’t like traveling that road. But I just can’t shake the thought (approaching belief) that there is something more than independent self-interest to the way Trump makes decisions.
You don't need a conspiracy theory

We have plenty of homegrown anti-democratic plutocrats. We know who paid for his second election. When you own everything, a war or global depression is just a chance to prevent development of civic organization and hoard more assets. Peter Thiel, Elon Musk, the Kochs and the Adelsons never played by any rules. Palantir is the synthesis of Blackwater and Uber. The tech bosses and the GOP play the same game as Putin and Netanyahu. Keep pushing until the other side gives or the rules of the game break down. For Trump starting a war with Iran is like countersuing a contractor he never paid. He is just embraces the game.
I don't think you have to go that far
by Jay, San Diego, Thursday, March 19, 2026, 12:15 (13 days ago) @ bk
"asset" to me implies he's under some level of control, that he's being extorted or coerced by kompromat, etc. I think that's difficult to swallow.
Moreover I don't think you need to go there to explain his actions. It's enough to chalk up all the unctuous fawning to a simple level of peer envy. He kisses up to Putin (and others) and because he wants to be Putin: the ultimate mob boss, ruling by whim, pillaging the world, free to do whatever he wants without accountability.
I think this is correct, and Putin gets it and plays it.

This is a really good thread that made me think of your comment. What looks like "Russian asset" is quite possibly just a symptom of a "Cluster B Personality disorder." Putin, being a professional spook, absolutely understands it and plays Trump like a fiddle at a honky tonk.

concerning why Trump’s malignant narcissistic personality disorder made him uniquely dangerous and explained nearly all of his actions. And as unnecessarily long as it was, it remains as true as when it was written and has been borne out every step of the way.

and it gives me no joy that the POTUS could be a Russian asset. But taking into account the Steele Dossier (even if only 25% of it is accurate) and the clear collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians, as well as the numerous actions that favor Putin and his refusal to ever criticize him, I have little doubt that he is a Russian asset.
What Trumpers fail to understand is that he may be a Russian
