Who will point out that China still doesn't really have the right naval capabilities to take Taiwan. They could flatten Taiwan if they wanted, but that's not the goal. It would be an incredibly costly amphibious invasion of an island that doesn't lend itself to such.

God help us all.

The country re-elected a guy who led an insurrection and the GOP congressmen and women who ran for their lives that day continue to support him. Even with an illegal act of war against Iran, his approval rates only dropped one point (disapproval went up 2). Enough Dems in Congress sided with the GOP to continue the war. The country has started at least 5 wars in its history with bogus excuses, going all the way back to the Mexican War.

The GOP is malevolent and the Dems are feckless. There was a vote in the House to release reports of sexual misconduct by congress and most Dems opposed it. You can't call for the release of the Epstein files but then kill a bill that exposes your sexual misconduct. Our government routinely protects wealthy sexual deviants.

There's a reason the rest of the world currently hates us and I don't blame them.

IMO, the only way the nation is redeemable is if the Dems gain power and a lot of Republicans (and some Dems) go to prison for a long time. In other words, I'll believe it when I see it.
