One thing about USC
2-loss ND is ranked 13, because of its "good" losses, to #2 Miami and #4 TAMU.
2-loss Illinois is unranked, due to its "bad" losses to... #1 OSU and #3 Indiana.
1-loss USC is #21. It lost, of course, to Illinois.
Against Illinois, USC forced one punt. On every other possession, Illinois either scored or fumbled directly into the end zone. Which happened twice. Illinois legitimately should have won this game by three touchdowns.
Illinois passed for 331, rushed for 171. Altmeyer was 20/26 with 2 TDs passing, one rushing, and one receiving.
USCs offense is very good. But their defense should not be able to get a single stop against NDs offense.

The USC starting DTs are both under 300 pounds. They'll swap in some big boys when they have to.

One thing about that Illinois loss
I have seen a couple places that multiple USC players had food poisoning the night before that game. It could have had an impact.
USC has also traveled very poorly east for Big ten games. South bend of course would be a similar situation.

Losing by 53 at Indiana is almost certainly the reason they are unranked. Losing by 18 at home to Ohio State doesn’t really show any indication of righting the ship.
