my daughter.

FUN NEWS: Compton Ice is worth the visit. We crushed the Gophers Friday. Also, I love walking that campus when nothing is going on.

BAD NEWS: I was at Sunny Italy Saturday early evening and word is they are closing the end 0f 2026 - 100 years. I say we pitch in/ buy it and get some one to run it. We got time. Takers?

GOOD NEWS: The Linebacker still going strong.

Saturday after Sunny Italy my daughter went to a movie with some friends. We were staying at IVY Court and so I walked over to Linebacker - by meself.

3.5 Large Guinness. the half was a bad pour and so she gave it to me.

WEIRD NIGHT: I drank the Guinness with locals while I watched ND lose to the Gophers. I told one innocuous dad joke. Something like, "what did the fish say when it ran into the wall? Damn!"

They took that minute opening and ran with it with it telling a series of vulgar, blasphemous, off color jokes. I would have been offended if I wasn't laughing so hard I was crying.

There is a definite undercurrent (is it really undercurrent?) of Catholic hate in that town. I had forgotten. But I do love locals.

Saint Mary's B-Ball team was also there (apart from my local friends). Cute nice kids. Not a great b-ball team.

CHICAGO NEWS: Pequods is my new favorite Chicago style - hands down. They kept the atmosphere and I am an atmosphere guy. Went to the original and on Clybourn.

WEST LAFAYETTE NEWS: 999 is a good pub. "Hello darkness my old friend, I come to drink with you again..." But damn if I did not get to drink a Guinness. It was snowing and we had to drive to ND. I like Purdue. Wish their football team was a little better and we played them more.
