What are everyone's thoughts on Connor Wood?

The kid looks good (I'm not sure 6-4 203 is right...he looks bigger than 203)

It seemed like the kid runs draws a lot out of the shotgun (doubtful in the future) and can escape pressure but it also looked like his line gave him some great coverage.

I'm just wondering if he's heir apparent to Clausen/Crist good or is he just a good prospect who'll compete for the starting job some day. At QB I don't see why we can't get a top 5 player every 2 years when Charlie goes after them. Is Wood a top 5 prospect?

Also, it's a good thing we don't put names on jerseys because Co Wood and Ci Wood would (I wish I had another word) look terrible.

He's just not that into us

From what I understand, Texas and Oklahoma are heavy favorites to land him.

I have little doubt that we'll get some top-level QB in the 2010 class, but unlike with the Clausen and Crist classes, I have no idea who it might be and I don't think it will be quite the same caliber of player. Jake Heaps seems destined for Washington, BYU or maybe Tennessee, Devin Gardner seems like an OSU/Michigan battle, even Montana's kid isn't showing great interest.

Tangent re: names on jerseys

I don't understand why the player's first initial, or more, need to be on the jersey when 2+ players have the same last name. Can't people distinguish the players simply from their different jersey numbers?

Hopefully we'll be in a bowl game this year so we can see what ND does with the Woods. I'd just put "Wood" on both jerseys and let people figure out who is who from their numbers.

We found out during the Hawaii bowl

Remember that our linebackers included B. Smith, H. Smith, S. Smith and T. Smith.
