Who's Frieda?

Good.
As an aside, the mods of that board should have more sense than to let that continue. I want Lynch ad much as the next guy but they really ought to show more sense when stuff pushes the NCAA rules.
Already done from what I understand

I think it may be time to alert ND
I just read through it all tonight. The poster claiming to be Lynch's mom seems to be enjoying the attention. Would be a real shame for her vanity to screw up his recruiting and ND's overall class.

-- Well, there we're in kind of a gray area.
-- How gray?
-- Charcoal?
dark gray.
My interpretation of the rule is that the onus is on the booster to be aware of the rules and avoid the contact.
Responding directly to a post on a message board is a form of communication, and while message board posts are not specifically enumerated in the list of don'ts, those guys are playing with fire. It's pretty stupid, and may threaten ND's recruitment of this kid.
Who is the moderator over there?
Lynch's mom and Irish Envy
I guess she's posting some more over there and hinting at an imminent commitment from Aaron.
I was looking over the Compliance pages on UND.com ( http://www.und.com/compliance/compliance-2.html ) and I think some of the breathless exhortations from the crowd towards Mrs. Lynch fall into a gray area of permissibility.
First of all, the definition of a "booster" is pretty broad:
You are a representative of Notre Dame's athletics interests, more commonly known as a "booster", if you meet any of the following conditions:
* you are an enrolled student or graduate of the University
* You have ever been a member of any organization that promotes Notre Dame's athletics program (e.g., Quarterback Club, Three Point Club, Fast Break Club).
* You have made a financial contribution to the Notre Dame athletics department or its booster organization.
* You are or have been a season ticket holder in any sport.
* You have provided benefits (e.g., summer jobs or occasional family meals) to enrolled student-athletes.
* You have ever, in any way, promoted the athletics program at Notre DameNOTE: Please remember that once you become a booster, you retain that identity indefinitely.
As a booster, here's what you can't do:
MAY NOT
* make any recruiting contacts with prospects or their relatives. This includes telephone calls, letters, emails, and facsimiles, along with any face-to-face contact either on or off-campus.
* assist Notre Dame coaches by picking up transcripts, films, or any other information pertaining to a prospect's ability from the prospect's educational institution.
* provide financial aid or benefit or any kind (e.g., clothing, special discounts, lodging, meals, transportation, tickets, loans of money) to prospects or their relatives.
* make contact with a prospective student-athlete or his/her parents when the prospect is on campus for and official or unofficial recruiting visit.
* contact a prospective student-athlete to congratulate him/her on signing a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Notre Dame.
* provide transportation or arrange for payment of transportation costs for a prospect or his/her relatives or friends to visit campus.
* earmark funds for specific prospects to attend a Notre Dame summer camp. Instead, you must donate the funds to the high school, and the school and the students will decide which camps they will attend.
* employ or arrange for employment of a prospect before ht completion of his/her senior year. After graduation, a booster may employ a prospect as long as compensation is for work actually performed and at a rate commensurate with experience and the going rate.
* provide ANYTHING to a prospect or the prospect's family or friends without prior approval from the Compliance Office.
I wonder if message board posting would fall under bullet #1. If so, a lot of those guys on Irish Envy need to STFU.
