Over the last four years...
USC has had 37 players drafted including 9 first round picks.
The next closest teams are Ohio State and LSU with 25. OSU had 10 first rounders and LSU had 7.
They've had 48% more draft picks than the next two teams on the list.
This season will be our best chance in a while
We get them in South Bend with a talented, deep roster, off a bye week (of course, they have one, too) and with them breaking in a new QB.
In 2010, we'll probably be even deeper and more talented, but Corp will be seasoned and we all know how tough USC is in the Coliseum in November.
In 2011, Crist will be the QB, and the transition may or may not be seamless.
I hope ND beats SoCal before Carrol hits 1994.
It would be really, really nice to beat them when they're still on top. SoCal lost to ND for a long, long time, and only managed to win once things started to slide for the Irish. I'd like to one-up them.

I just hope Carroll's 1994 is coming up soon
But given that USC's admissions office will never do to that recruiting juggernaught what Monk did to Holtz, I'm not holding my breath.
More likely Carroll will be like Bowden, finishing in the top five for a ridiculous number of years in a row.
I wonder if his trajectory isn't a bit like Lou's
He righted the ship in a couple of years, hit the pinnacle with an undefeated season and NC, then had a string of seasons where every year there was at least one embarrassing loss to a lesser team.
I think that's due to...
the fact that McCoy, Gresham, Bradford, Tebow, Spikes, etc., stayed for another year.
But that is kind of quirky.
Pete is starting to look a bit like Dean Smith.
No one would argue that Smith isn't one of the best coaches in the history of college basketball. Still, there's a decent argument that he should have done more with all the talent he had.
I heard yesterday that the last NC game...
featured the fewest 1st round picks in BCS history. Sort of a quirky little fact.

It sounds odd given all USC has accomplished...
but you could argue that the Trojans have underachieved since losing to Texas in the 2005 title game.
